West Virginia University's Forensic Science Initiative is getting
almost 4-million-dollars in federal funding to help fight crime.
The initiative supports forensic research and professional training,
including WVU's fingerprint identification program. Students in the
program learn about evidence collection and examination. The university
also provides resources to improve forensic science in crime labs across
the nation. Senator Robert C. Byrd secured 3-point-9-million-dollars
for the program.
